We Believe

We believe that the sixty-six books of Holy Scripture as originally given are in their entirety the Word of God, verbally inspired and wholly without error in all that they declare and therefore are the supreme and final authority of faith and life.

We believe in one true God who has eternally existed in three distinct yet co-equal persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Virgin Birth and the deity of Jesus the Christ, the eternal Son of God and Son of Man, with two distinct natures in one person.

We believe the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross made atonement for the world's sin sufficient for all who accept Him as their Lord and Savior.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus the Christ which ensures the resurrection of all believers who have received God’s gift of eternal life.

We believe in Christ's imminent, visible, and bodily return.

We believe that people were created in the image of God, that they were born into sin through the fall of the first Adam, and that they are responsible for their own sin. Sin causes them to be separated from God and apart from Jesus the Christ are lost eternally.

We believe God wonderfully and immutably created each person as distinctly male or female (man and woman) (Gen. 1:26-31; 2:18-25; 5:1, 2). These two distinct and complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person and is a sin against God and harmful to the person. Marriage was created and sanctioned by God in which God joins one man and one woman in a single and exclusive union. (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6)

We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. Any form of sexual intimacy outside of marriage is sexually immoral, morally and spiritually harmful to the parties involved, and is a sin against God. (1 Cor. 6:15-7:6; Eph. 5:3-7) Sexual immorality includes, but is not limited to, adultery, fornication, homosexual conduct, and pornography. Furthermore, honorable conduct is not suggestive or lewd. Still, they treat one another, including members of the opposite sex, with respectful words and attitudes, purity of speech, and recognition of their comfort and dignity. (1 Tim 4:12, 5:2)

We believe that salvation from everlasting punishment and entrance into a state of fellowship with God is secured by the grace of God alone, through faith alone in the substitutionary sacrifice of Jesus the Christ alone. We believe that all those who have trusted in Christ are spiritually united with Him and are permanently indwelling by the Holy Spirit. We believe that all the saved are eternally secure in Christ.

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all who receive Jesus the Christ as both Savior and Lord and that the indwelling of the Spirit is fully complete in Christ at the moment of salvation.

We believe the Holy Spirit quickens from death into life and continues the work of sanctification in the believer.

We believe that all believers comprise the Church, which is the body of Christ, and that Christians are called to witness for Christ.
While at Whisper Canyon Christian Camp, we require all staff, campers, and guests to conduct themselves in a godly manner that reflects and honors these Biblical values.
